The generous gesture reaffirms Kenya’s commitment to taking a frontline role in extending assistance to members of the East African Community.

“In this regard, Kenya has honoured its commitment to assisting Burundi to develop its agriculture, livestock and co-cooperative sectors. The Mandela cow which His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta handed to his Burundian Counterpart His Excellency President Evariste Ndayishimiye in Kisumu on May 31, 2021 has finally arrived in Burundi together with 50 high-yielding dairy heifers” the foreign affairs ministry said in a statement.
