Former La Liga champions and five-time UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla FC are set for a historic tour in Tanzania.
Sevilla's first team will play a friendly match with either Tanzanian champions Simba SC or Young Africans SC at the national Stadium in Dar es Salaam on May 23.

Whilst in Tanzania, Sevilla, who are fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot for next season, will participate in different CSR projects in their maiden trip to the East African nation.

Tanzania has been attracting top foreign clubs recently as a result of the immense growth of its domestic .
In 2017, English Premier League side Everton became the first UK club to visit the country where they played against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in a friendly match.

"As a global competition it is a commitment for LaLiga to be close to its fans, for them to be able to see a great club like Sevilla FC is a wonderful opportunity for everyone," Óscar Mayo, La Liga’s International Development Director said in statement sent to the media and seen by Tuko.co.ke.

Sevilla FC will become the second European team to visit Tanzania as part of SportPesa Global’s plan of spreading football excitement to the company’s African markets by leveraging on international partners.
