The Mombasa run is set to be held on 5th-6th February with the runners going through Nyali Beach, Mama Ngina Waterfront, Greenwood Drive, Pirates Beach, Downtown among other routes during the two day non-competitive race.
The virtual run which will see no winners being announced or awarded and has no set distance limit is geared to showcasing the aesthetic attributes of Mombasa City.

‘’Our objective is to invite runners / walkers and fitness enthusiasts from all over the country to come discover the beauty of Mombasa, connect with the runners of the city and have everyone running in different running routes of the city over a weekend’’, a statement from the race organizers Action Matketing Plus read.
It added ‘’Participants can run and walk with the listed run groups who shall be running different routes with specific distances, all around Mombasa or participants may also choose to run their own preferred routes with family / friends’’.
The organizers are mulling over spreading the race to other cities in its forthcoming series of virtual meets after successfully hosting the Nairobi Run in August, last year .
“Mombasa Run is among a series of runs that will be organizing across the country. This is neither a race, nor a competition. We also encourage participants to add more routes and register their run groups with us to boost engagement in the community. This is all about rediscovering, building and celebrating our Mombasa”, said Younes Iraki, CEO of Action Marketing Plus.
To participate in the race, runners register at www.Mombasa.Run

Former and current runners are set to participate in the race led by former men’s world marathon champion Douglas Wakiihuri incidentally born in 1963 in Mombasa.
