- Arsenal will host Tottenham at Emirates for the new season's first north London derby
- Both sides suffered defeats in matchweek three last weekend
- Emery and Guardiola will be seeking to outwit tactically outwit the other
Arsenal and Tottenham will all be seeking to bounce back to winning ways after suffering defeats in their matchweek three when they face off at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 1.
Arsenal were thrashed 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, with Spurs suffering a 1-0 shock defeat to Newcastle at home.
Both Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettino have serious selection problems ahead of the first north London derby of the new season as both managers seek to tactically outwit the other.
Given the significance of the fixture, both Emery and Pochettino will be looking to field their top guns in search of victory.
Unlike Arsenal, Spurs are facing a major injury crisis ahead of the derby, with up to four players set to miss the clash.
The defensive duo of Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth have both been confirmed to miss the encounter, meaning Serge Aurier could drawn in their place.
Summer signing Tanguy Ndombele is also out of the tie, meaning Pochettino will have to rethink how to structure his line-up.
However, should Eric Dier be passed fit for the match, as he can provide cover in defence.
Meanwhile, Emery has hinted at starting Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the north London derby.
In the absence of Nacho Monreal who left for Real Sociedad, Sead Kolasinac could be introduced to make his first appearance of the new season.
The Bosnian will therefore be partnered with David Luiz, Sokratis and Maitland-Niles in defence,
Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos and Guendozi could be drawn in midfield, with Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe all starting upfront.
Predicted Arsenal line-up:
Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno
Defenders: Kolasinac, Sokratis, Luiz, Maitland-Niles
Midfielders: Xhaka Ceballos and Guendozi
Forwards: Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe
Predicted Tottenham line-up:
Goalkeeper: Lloris
Defenders: Rose, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Aurier
Midfielders: Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen
Forwards: Moura, Son, Kane
