Bandari came from behind to pip visiting Chemilil Sugar 3-1 and in the process maintain their third spot in the SportPesa Premier League log in a match played at the Mbaraki Sports ground this afternoon.

Chemilil Sugar capitalized on an early penalty awarded to them after Bandari’s Dan Guya handled the ball inside the penalty box in the fifth minute. But their celebrations did not last long as Bandari equalized through Yema Mwana who pounced on a rebound to restore parity in the 15th.

Bandari continued to pile pressure on the visitors and David Kingatua added the tally in the 30th minute from the penalty spot. Bandar’s coach Bernard Mwalala’s decision to bring in Moses Mudavadi for Hassan Abdalla bore fruits when Mwana scored his second goal and Bandari’s third in the 70th minute to kill Chemelil’s hopes recovering.

The home side entered the match beaming with confidence after a resounding 6-1 win against SS ASAD during a Sportpesa Shield match played on Sunday at the Machakos Stadium to book a final slot against rivals Kariobangi Sharks.

In the second half, Shaban Kenga was brought in for Darius Msagha with the hopes of adding the goals tally but the visitors re-organised their back-line to thwart any more attacks. The win now sees Bandari cement their third place position with 55 points, just a single point behind second placed Sofapaka. Bandari will take on Tusker at the same ground on Thursday.
