Atalanta made the confirmation on their social media page that the deal for Palasic had been completed.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed a massive £13.5m will go to the Blues despite the player not making an appearance for them, while Croatian side Hadjuk Split will get £3m.

And the club who have already made it through to the quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history have now confirmed the Croatian midfielder has done enough to earn himself a deal.

Pasalic went on loan with Elche, Monaco, AC Milan and Spartak Moscow for a season each before he finally had a breakthrough spell with Atalanta.

He helped Atalanta secure a third-place finish and secured Champions League football in his first campaign.

Pasalic signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge last season until 2022 in a bid to earn a bumper deal from a potential buyer.
