Chelsea are reportedly considering offering Callum Hudson-Odoi Eden Hazard's No.10 shirt once the Belgian completes his move to Real Madrid.
The Premier League club are hopeful the move will convince Hudson-Odoi to commit his future at Stamford Bridge after reports emerged the youngster could also quit in the summer.
Hazard has already reportedly agreed personal terms with Madrid and the deal is expected to go through after the Europa League.
His departure could deal Chelsea a massive blow, a situation that has forced the club's hierarchy to make plans to build a new side around Hudson-Odoi.
The youngster was close to joining Bayern Munich in January, with the Bundesliga champions understood to have submitted four separate bids to land his signature.
The Englishman has a running contract with the Blues which will expire in 2020, but is said to be concerned about lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri.
His representatives are however scheduled to meet Chelsea officials, with the Mail Online reporting the club will be hoping to convince the academy graduate to stick around by handing him the prestigious shirt number.
He is likely to miss the start of next season after suffering a ruptured Achilles in April.
He managed to score five goals in more than 20 appearances for the Blues in all competitions in the just concluded 2018/19 season.
