KBC’s weekly News Programme Cinema and Theatres this week featured the filmmakers of the short film The Heist which premiered on the creative Garage Facebook page on May 16th. Creative Garage also produced the film.
The Heist seeks to educate members of the public, especially during this election period, on the need to make an informed decision come August 9th. Elizabeth Kilili, the film’s scriptwriter and director says that most of the actors who came on board including Nyakundi Isaboke Ywaya Xavier Ibrahim Muchemi and Auudi Rowa all accepted their roles because they thought it was an important story to tell, especially during an election year.
Upon the release of the film, Creative Grage wrote, “As we gear up for elections, feign amnesia and sanitize our leaders who continually provide us with good entertainment, we continue to watch clowns and chase after magicians who lose 2billion a day. This is our country and nothing is as it seems.”
The film is available to watch here.
