The council of Governors is now pointing an accusing finger at the Integrated Financial Management Information System being managed by Treasury for allegedly painting them as corrupt.
The governors coming to the defense of Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu over the alleged misappropriation of over 2.3 billion shillings, argue the county could not have spent such huge sums of money that are way above its allocation.
Following the revelation by the Senate Public Accounts and Investments Committee that Kiambu County government could have spent billions of shillings on functions that are purely under the national government mandates.

Speaking after holding a meeting with the Auditor general and the controller of budget the COG chairman Wycliffe Oparanya says they have formed a multi-stakeholder committee to look into the issue and file its report in two weeks.
Oparanya further called on the senate to stop summoning Governors to answer queries on the 2017-2018 financial year until the issue is resolved
