Thursday February 28, 2019 - Blogger and columnist, Cyprian Nyakundi, has revealed the name of a Jubilee Party Governor who spends 1 million shillings daily as his electorate continues to die because of lack of better health care and poverty. Nyakundi through his Twitter handle Le Presidente revealed that Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, lives at Nairobi Safari Club’s presidential suite and the daily rate is almost Sh 1 million. Nairobi taxpayers are the ones who cater for Sonko’s lavish lifestyle. Sonko owns a house in Runda but the sloppy Governor abandoned the house moments after he was elected Nairobi boss in 2017. “This is how Sonko the Kevese is dealing with people who don't pay parking. He spends Kshs. 1million per day at Nairobi Safari Club (Lillian Towers) where he has been living in the presidential suite since 2017,” Nyakundi said. Meanwhile, Sonko is among the four Governors who are being investigated by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over mass embezzlement of public funds.
