DAILY POST: Like KINOTI, no-nonsense DPP HAJI issues a tough warning to RUTO and his cabal of thieves who are fleecing Kenyans - You will see fire in 2019! 06:02
Friday December 21, 2018 - Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji, has urged Kenyans to stop politicising the ongoing purge against graft. Since the war on graft started, a section of Rift Valley politicians led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, and his Nandi counterpart, Samson Cherargei, have been claiming that the war on graft is targeting Kalenjin community professionals. But in an exclusive interview with a local daily, Haji said communities being used to shield graft kingpins are themselves victims of massive looting in Government. “We are 50 years-plus as a country, we are beyond that. It has become a tired narrative. It needs to stop and I think Kenyans can read between the lines,” Haji said, echoing similar sentiments by President Uhuru Kenyatta “When these individuals are looting public coffers, none of those villagers or tribesmen were benefitting. If anything, they are the biggest losers...It's not about politics, it's not about tribes, it's about people who have looted public resources,” Haji said. Haji said despite the noises from tribal bigots, he will continue arresting State officers who steal public money. Murkomen and Cherargei are close associates of Deputy President William Ruto who is labelled the “high priest of corruption”.
