Deputy President William Ruto has endorsed UDA’s partnership with ANC and FORD-Kenya saying discussions will revolve around the economy, democracy, and a better Kenya.

“We have decided to come together to stall the onslaught on divisive politics and sponsorship of political parties not meant meant for any other purpose but to divide people,” He said.

Ruto said the so called parties are merely ODM outfits camouflaged as progressive parties saying, “Who doesn’t know that Azimio La Umoja is just ODM trying to reincarnate itself and trying to pose as something different from what people of Kenya known them to be?”

Ruto said they are pursuing purpose driven politics that will unite Kenyans saying sponsored political parties have no place in the current democracy saying they are being formed to mask the ugly past of some parties.

Ruto said there are provisions in the political parties amendment bill that are unconstitutional saying the law is clear on what a political party is and we can not purport to amend the law to define what is already clear.

“You heard IEBC saying some of the provisions in the bill infringe on the functions of IEBC, am sure even is this law is forced through, Kenyans will stand up and challenge it in the right places so that the constitution is upheld and free and fair elections are held,” He said.

DP Ruto spoke during the first UDA affiliated MPs parliamentary group meeting at his Karen residence.

The PG welcomed the partnership between UDA, ANC and Ford Kenya and agreed on a programme of joint rallies going forward.

Kandara MP Alice Wahome said they will be meeting representatives from the said parties to agree on the same.

The group also called for political tolerance during campaigns saying UDA Party will not condone incitement and violence and urged their competitors to follow suit.
