DPP opposes application by Defense to have Justice Jessie Lessit disqualified from a case where Migori Governor Okoth Odado, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero are charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
In their application, Defense said that the Hon. Justice was biased in granting bail to Obado and denied them, yet the Governor was more influential and likely to interfere with witnesses.
Oyamo and Obiero want the case to be heard by a different Judge.
DPP through Deputy Director Jacob Ondari opposed the application saying that the reasons given by the Defense did not meet the basic test to disqualify a Judge.

The case will be heard on 29th May 2019.
