Embu governor Martin Wambora has told off MCAs whom he accuses of interfering with his work and urged them to give him time to deliver.
Wambora blames the MCAs for harassing his county ministers and asking for bribes. Governor Wambora said he wasted a lot of time during his first term as a governor because of ‘the gluttonous leaders who were impeaching him so that they can be able to lead’.
“The MCAs have their legislative, oversight and representation of the people roles but they don’t have any gubernatorial role. Let them keep off from interfering with the executive and do their work,’’ declared Wambora.
Wambora said that in the first term he only worked for one year and 10 months and all the other time he wasted in the court corridors over his impeachment.
Embu MCAs have been pushing the governor to dismiss officers whom they have been terming as corrupt and misusing public resources.
Recently, the MCAs demonstrated in the streets of Embu town and inside the governor’s office to push Wambora to suspend corrupt officers.
They also suspended revenue collection in the county until the officers implicated in corruption are interdicted.
