January 12, 2019-National Police Service (NPS) has ordered
police in Nakuru to arrest former Njoro MP, Joseph Kiuna, for inciting members of the Kikuyu community
living in Rift Valley.In a video clip that has gone viral, Kiuna said members of the Kikuyu community will defend themselves incase Kalenjin warriors attacks them for betraying Deputy President William Ruto in 2022. Now in a statement on Saturday morning, NPS said it has instructed its officers to hunt for the former lawmaker over incitement remarks. “Our attention has been drawn to some Tweets supposedly issued by named individual issuing threats to ingnite inter-ethnic clashes akin to what occurred in 2007/8 in parts of the country. Let it be known to all that we are taking these threats as a serious matter, and that we are working with the NCIC with a view to dealing with the persons involved in accordance with the law,” NPS said in a statement. Also NPS said it is hunting for a Kalenjin by the name Dennis Mutai who posted incitement remarks on Twitter on Wednesday.
