Gor Mahia have confirmed the appointment of Sony Sugar FC head coach Patrick Odhiambo as their new assistant coach.
Odhiambo takes over from Zedekiah Otieno who quit the club earlier this month and joined KCB as head coach.
He led Sony Sugar to a fifth-place finish in the Kenyan Premier League during the 2019/20 season despite the financial challenges that the Awendo-based side grappled with.
Prior to his move to Sony, Odhiambo had previously coached Muhoroni Youth, AgroChemicals, Chemelil Sugar FC and Western Stima FC.
"We are very happy that he agreed to join us at Gor Mahia and hope to reach greater heights together," Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier announced.
"He is a qualified and capable coach and we were impressed by the work he as done elsewhere so among he many coaches who were interested in the job we settled on him,” he added.
Meanwhile Gor Mahia will resume training on Wednesday, June 26, in preparation for the Cecafa Club Championship that will be staged in Rwanda.
