The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has launched investigations into irregular acquisition of land belonging to the national broadcaster – Kenya Broadcasting Corporation by a group calling itself Komarock Ranching and Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited.

In his weekly press briefing Thursday, Government Spokesperson Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna said the parcel of land measuring about 499.5 hacters along the Nairobi-Kangundo road, which was bought by KBC in 1980, contains equipment estimated at hundreds of millions of shillings and was fraudulently acquired by Komarock Ranching and Farmers Co-op.

This includes Studio Mashinani, a government project aimed at empowering the youth.

Col. Oguna however declined to disclose the names of the suspected beneficiaries saying that would jeopardize investigations.
