GSU Officer Dies While Swimming in Embakasi

While undergoing training at the GSU Training School Embakasi, an officer cadet drowned.

The victim drowned in the facility’s swimming pool on Wednesday evening while taking a swimming lesson with other classmates, according to police.

“One cadet namely No. 89639 C/IP Wycliff Geresa Kisii male adult 37 years who was swimming with other cadets sunk into the swimming pool,” a police report read.

The 37-year-old was rescued by a pool staff before being brought to Riara Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to police.

The victim’s body was taken to the Kenyatta University mortuary for a postmortem.
