Harambee Stars players' bank accounts are set to swell with cash in the coming weeks after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) set up an enticing reward scheme for the national team ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Each player is set to pocket at least KSh 500,000 for taking part at the continental showpiece to be staged in Cairo, Egypt from June 21.

In the financial reward scheme drawn by FKF which Tuko.co.ke has seen, each of the 23 players, who will make the trip to France for a three-week camp will pocket half a million shillings.

Coach Sebastien Migne's will then drop three players after the camp and the unlucky trio will be awarded additional KSh 250,000 each as they return home while the rest of the squad head to Cairo.

Additionally, players will be paid KSh 250,000 for a win or a draw in the final tournament that will run from June 21 to July 19.

This is besides the KSh 38 million, which is part of the KSh 50 million promise by Deputy President William Ruto that was wired to players' accounts on Wednesday, where each player received an average of KSh 1 million.

Harambee Stars AFCON reward scheme:

- KSh 500,000 each for the final 23 players

- KSh 250,000 each for the three players heading back home from France camp

- KSh 250,000 each for every win

- KSh 250,000 each for a draw

-All players who took part in the AFCON qualifiers to share KSh 38 million.
