Harambee Stars has been placed in Pot 3 in the 2019 African Cup of Nations in the draw that is set to be held Today 12 April 2019 in Egypt.
FIFA’s ranking system has been used to place the teams in their respective Pots with Pot 1 containing the best ranked teams among the 24 with Pot 4 containing the least ranked.
Kenya is the least ranked team in the pot whereby Stars are placed along fellow East Africans Uganda who are ranked nine places above Kenya at position 79 globally and number 16 in the continent.
South Africa, Benin, Mauritania and Madagascar are the other teams pooled together in Pot 3.
Pot 2 has Ghana, DR Congo, Mali , Ivory Coast , Guinea and Algeria .
Pot 4 has two of the other East African teams in Tanzania and Burundi pooled together alongside Angola , Guinea Bissau , Namibia and Zimbabwe.
