The governor went ahead and established a taskforce to look into the situation at the hospital.

Kirinyaga Chief Officer of Health, Dr. Stanley Muriithi confirmed that the situation in the hospital had greatly improved since governor Waiguru acted on the conditions therein.

A spot check at the facility shows that some of the works undertaken include repair of the laundry and dryer facilities and unclogging of sinks and toilets in wards.

Preliminary investigations by the taskforce also reveal that sabotage could be at play given that over 300 casuals at the hospital were sacked recently.

Governor Waiguru sent the affected staff home in a bid to reduce a ballooning wage bill.
