What do Huddah, Michael Kors and Harper’s Bazaar have in common? A lot apparently
Huddah isn’t Kenya’s first transplant in the land of milk and honey, that we shall call Los Angeles for the purposes of this article. Many Kenyans have gone before her (most notably Lupita Nyong’o, Edi Gathegi who are currently making bank in Hollywood) and she won’t be the last.
She, however, is the most recent Kenyan celebrity to be featured in a publication of International renown. Huddah looks absolutely stunning in a shimmering purple Micheal Kors outfit in the current issue of Harper’s Bazaar, one of America’s foremost publications in Fashion and Beauty.
She is featured in an article by Kevin Kwan (Crazy Rich Asians) titled “Crazy Rich Angelenos” that features other transplants from across the world. The article features two other women, Adinda Bakrie and Mireya Rios, like Huddah who are trying to break boundaries and reinvent themselves while following their dreams. Kevin describes these three women as Charlie’s Angels, who are part and parcel of the City of Angel’s age of renaissance.
In the feature, she speaks about growing up poor, her celebrity status in Nairobi and “a Huddah Cosmetics U.S. flagship stocking her popular liquid lipsticks and eye shadow palettes for darker skin tones. (sic)”
