'In 2017 I wanted to quit music' Seyi Shay opens up about serious hardship as an artiste

Seyi Shay is a popular artiste in Kenya after her hit song featuring Patorankig, Murda went viral in 2015 and is still a hit to date.

She came in on Breakfast with The Stars with Adelle and Shaffie on KISS FM and opened up about a lot of facts in life when it comes to music that is not out there in the public.

Seyi Shay, a British-Nigerian national, says she found it hard to study in Nigeria because she did not know much of the local language but with time she was accustomed to everything Nigerian.

She opened up saying her mother was not such a big fan of her career as an artiste but slowly she warmed up to the idea. Sadly she is not there to see how huge her daughter’s career has grown as she died 10 years ago.

Prior to her death, she would prophesy a lot on her music that is coming to pass now. Seyi Shay says this shocks her daily.

my mum was not about the music life but with time she gave me blessings and she used to prophesy a lot when it comes to my music and 10 years after her death a few things are coming to pass

So yes, she is successful in the music game but in 2017, she was at the point of quitting. Seyi Shay was lacking inspiration and what’s worse she wasn’t making moeny.

in 2017 i was desperately searching for new inspiration and i was dropping wierd music and money was also a factor. money started running out and by the time i wanted to get back up it was a bit too late. Luckily the next year i shot a movie which atleast  brought me back to the light
