Isuzu East Africa Wednesday held a breakfast reception to honour and celebrate legendary four-time London Marathon winner Eliud Kipchoge for his win at the recently concluded 2019 London Marathon.
Kipchoge, who is also the Isuzu D-Max Brand Ambassador, completed his victory in a course record of 2 hours 2 minutes 37 seconds to set the second-fastest time in the marathon after his World Record win in Berlin last year.
Giving her keynote speech at the event, Isuzu EA Managing Director Rita Kavashe said that Kipchoge’s historic fourth London win had showcased values that are intrinsic to the Isuzu brand.
Rita emphasized Isuzu’s commitment to supporting Eliud as he took on greater challenges in his stellar athletic career.

“Our slogan, Tuko Pamoja Safarini is apt in describing the journey we have had with Eliud. As Isuzu East Africa, we promise to walk with you as you progress to greater levels of accomplishments in your career. You can always count on us. As you take on the next big challenge – a second attempt to run under two hours later this year – we shall be there to support you achieve the historic feat,” said Rita.
Receiving an appreciation gift from Isuzu EA, an elated Eliud Kipchoge thanked the company for supporting him and ensuring that he gives his best at any marathon he sets his eyes on.
“I am truly grateful for the support that the Isuzu family always gives me as I go about my career as an athlete. They are continuously providing me with a third leg, a true realization of their promise, ‘Tuko Pamoja Safarini’. Coupled with team work, hard work and dedication, I am always confident that I’ll deliver the victory,” noted Kipchoge.
“It is an honour to run for my country and it’s always a great feeling to bring victory back home. To the millions of fans who watched as I raced on TV and to the millions who whispered a prayer of success, I say thank you for the support,” said Kipchoge.
The celebratory breakfast comes a few months after Isuzu EA delivered a brand-new Isuzu D-Max Luxury Double Cab pick-up to Eliud Kipchoge for breaking the world record at the 2018 Berlin Marathon.
The brand ambassador partnership is set to run for the next 2 years.
