Jacqueline Mwangi named head coach, to steer national women’s hockey team at Club games

The Kenya Hockey Union has named Jacqueline Mwangi as the head coach of the national women hockey team which is preparing for the forthcomig Commonwealth Games set to be held between the 28th of July and 8th of August this year in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Jacqueline  who will be assisted by Barbra Simiyu and Michael Malungu is among  thirteen technical bench officials named by Kenya Hockey Union president   Nashon Randiek to prepare the team  for the club games.

Others named in the bench are  Manjit Singh Jhite who will take over as the Director of Coaching while Glennis Namasake is the team manager.

The group is being chaperoned by Elynah Shiveka with Nashon Randiek as a technical official. The ladies’ team is expected to go into residential camp for a period of three months.

The team has a pool of 46 players who will be trimmed to the final 18.
