Former IEBC chairman Issack Hassan is among prominent Kenyans who have been shortlisted for the position of Judge of the Court of Appeal.
In an advert that appeared on a section of print media, the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has also shortlisted Lilian Mahiri-Zaja who was Hassan’s Deputy at IEBC for the position of High Court Judge.
In total, JSC has shortlisted 31 candidates for the position of Court of Appeal Judge and 141 for High Court Judge.
The Commission has now invited shortlisted candidates for interviews set for June 20th to July 6th and July 18th to August 24th respectively.
Others include Employment Court Judge Nduma Nderi, who is seeking to join the Court of Appeal, former Kenya National Human Rights Commission CEO Ms Patricia Nyaundi who has also been shortlisted for the position of Judge of the High court.
JSC is seeking to recruit 6 more Judges of the Court of Appeal and 20 judges of the High Court to address case backlog ad has urged the public to submit information on the shortlisted candidates that may be of help to the Commission.
