Kenya African National Union (Kanu) party chair and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has reiterated support for Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 18th May Moi stated that the party was committed to the coalition’s aspirations of a united and peaceful Kenya.

He urged his party members to continue collaborating with the Azimio coalition.

“I wish to take this opportunity to reassure you individually and collectively that we focused on the unity of all Kenyans as per our party values of peace, love and unity. We are actively engaged in bringing together all our political partners with whom we share ideologies,” said Moi.

“We, therefore, remain committed to the aspirations and guiding principles of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition and its mission of inclusivity. And to this end, we shall leave no one behind. My appeal to you is that let us all go out and win together for our party and country.”

This came after Gideon Moi left the KICC grounds on Monday, 16th May when Azimio presidential aspirant Raila was unveiling his running mate and headed to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s event in Karen, Nairobi where he declared to go it alone in the elections.

His decision to storm out of Raila’s event had left Kenyans speculating on his next political move.

Kalonzo on Monday announced his exit from Azimio and declared that he will vie for president on a Wiper ticket.

He also unveiled Andrew Ole Sunkuli as his running mate in the upcoming election.
