A change in tact that the Federation’s chair, Nick Mwendwa, attributes to the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations where Local coaches thrived.

On his part, Kimanzi, who was Stars assistant Coach for a year and a half, is confident his technical bench, led by Kenya Premier League side Head Coach, Zedekiah Otieno, is up to the task.

Meanwhile, despite the withdrawal of KPL’s title sponsors, Mwendwa expects the 2019/2020 Season to proceed.

Finally, Gor Mahia defender Joash Onyango was named the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) Most Valuable Player for the 2018/19 season, in an awards gala staged at the National Museums of Kenya, Nairobi.

The defence maestro was also named the season’s Defender of the Year while Farouk Shikhalo was named the Golden Glove winner, as Francis Kahata was pronounced the winner in the Midfielder of the Year category.
