Kisumu county government will now pursue a leasing arrangement with health equipment providers as they seek to reduce wastage and break down of health equipment across the county.
Governor Peter Anyang Nyongo Monday said residents have in the past missed on key services after key medical equipment broke down.
He said on many occasions the equipment are bought without a proper service and maintenance program.
Nyongo spoke as he flagged the distribution of health equipment worth 15 million shillings across the county hospitals.
The equipment mainly used for safe delivery were purchased through a World Bank grant.
