Larry Madowo gives The Trend competition with new show

Larry Madowo was the life blood of The popular Friday night TV show, The Trend.

He left for BBC Africa where he bagged a bausss position as the BBC News Africa Business Editor

Larry announced the launch of a news show on BBC called Mitikasi Leo, will bring viewers a daily round-up of business and economic headlines.

The programme will also feature the views and opinions of a specially chosen group of entrepreneurs, creatives, business leaders and other innovators from across the continent – 100 bora.

Larry Madowo said in a press statement:

“Mitikasi Leo is here for the audiences that are finding themselves left out by business stories in the media. The headlines of the day will be presented alongside the real reactions and experiences of all types of African entrepreneurs. We know this will be a useful programme for viewers making their everyday money decisions.”

Mitikasi Leo is presented by Lynace Mwashighadi, Zawadi Mudibo and David Nkya – with contributions from a cast of the BBC journalists in Africa and beyond.

The show is the latest production from BBC News Africa’s new business unit which has production teams in Dakar, Nairobi and London as well as reporters across the continent .

Each 13 minute edition features helpful hints and tips on everything from ‘How to dress for success’ to ‘The best way to get a pay rise’.

It also showcases a social media round-up of what’s been trending online in the business world as well as top African and international news stories of the day and a look at how they affect people at a local level.
