- Allegri is set to leave the Italian giants in the summer despite winning them the Serie A title this season

Liverpool legend, Steve Nicol, has advised Manchester United to get rid of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and replace him with Massimiliano Allegri this summer.

Allegri was sacked on Friday, May 17, as Juventus manager despite five trophy-laden seasons with the Italian giants.

Nicol now claims Allegri would be a perfect replacement for Solskjaer who endured a difficult end to the season that saw United miss out on Champions League qualification.

Solskjaer was handed a permanent role at Old Trafford back in March, replacing Jose Mourinho in a three-year-contract deal.

But while discussing who was better equipped to manage the Red Devils, Nicol insisted there would no be any contest between Allegri and Solskjaer.

“I know there’s the human element in it. But really, “Who would you rather have as your manager, Allegri or Solskjaer?" He posed according to talkSPORT.
“Seriously, it’s no contest," he concluded.

Since replacing Antonio Conte five years ago, Allegri has managed to deliver 11 trophies, apart from reaching the Champions League final on two occasions.

However, failure to deliver a European title during his tenure saw him get sacked by the Turin-based club.
