Manchester City have completed the signing of 16-year-old attacking midfielder Josh Adam who will be moving to the Etihad stadium from Celtic academy.

This latest signing by the Citizens was confirmed less than 24 hours after they were beaten by Chelsea in the Premier League.

According to the report on UK Sun, Manchester City faced serious competition from clubs in Germany and England for them to get the signing of Josh Adam.

But Guardiola and his coaching crew will have to wait till the summer before they can finally set their eyes on Josh Adam who has been dubbed as the new ‘Lionel Messi’.

Adam caught their eye when he dazzled for Celts at the Marc Overmars tournament in Holland and was named player of the competition.

The news will come as a bitter blow to the Hoops having lost another top prospect, but they can still produce more youngsters for bigger clubs to sign.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will now be focusing on the Champions League after losing this term’s Premier League title to Liverpool.

Guardiola and his wards will hope they overcome Real Madrid in the Champions League for them to fight on this term in the competition.

The City gaffer is reportedly also interested in signing AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer this summer.

The Spanish tactician is in search of a replacement for outgoing countryman David Silva and the Spaniard was said to have reached out to the Algerian star.

Reports from The Mirror indicate the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager called the 22-year-old over a possible summer switch to Etihad Stadium.

He joined Arsenal in 2015 but only managed to feature in one match for the senior team having represented the Gunners’ youth teams on multiple occasions.

The defender left the north London club in 2017 7 for Empoli after spending time on loan at French club Tours.

However, City are back on his trail five years after missing out of signing him but this time, they will have to trigger his release clause set by the Serie A club.
