Migori county service providers have protested over the county’s refusal to pay them thousands of shillings in arrears for services rendered to the county government and instead selectively paying relatives and friends.
The service providers complained bitterly that senior employees take orders from the county government to pay relatives and friends of the top officials locking them out.
Finance chief officer Samuel Omuga with instructions from the governor has allegedly paid relatives and friends of senior employees, denying other service providers opportunity of continue offering essential services to the county.
The service providers complained that they have not been paid arrears running into millions of shillings as some senior employees diverted funds meant to have been used in offsetting their dues.

Migori Governor, Obado

Migori county governor Okoth Obado who is facing a murder charge at a Nairobi court is allegedly issuing instructions of those to be considered for payment on claims that some service providers are not cooperative to cough out money to assist in upkeep of his family members.
Majority of senior employees are relatives and friends of the governor which is denying credible people opportunity of engagement to offer vital services.
Migori county government is a den of corruption that the anti-corruption team should launch thorough investigations over malpractices and spending lavishly in hotels by a few disgruntled elements in the county government, residents say.
Subcounties daily collections are no longer remitted to banks as senior employees collude to divert collections to their own personal use.
Last week, some senior employees were spotted dining at a border hotel with their girl friends ignoring the plight of junior employees toiling to bring a meal on the tables of their families.
