MMUST shock Top Fry Nakuru to move further away from Kenya Cup relegation : The standard Sports

MMUST after a past Kenya Cup match.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) RFC on Saturday proved their doubters wrong after defeating hosts Top Fry Nakuru 13-8 in a Kenya Cup match staged at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Veron Kaburu and William Mwanji scored unconverted tries as Erick Cantona added a penalty in their first away win of the 2021-2022 season.

The win saw the Kakamega based university students pick four vital points on the road as they fight to stay in the Kenya Cup.

MMUST moved from eighth place to sixth in the log with 18 points same as Blak Blad after the victory as they hold onto the final quarterfinals playoffs spot with two matches left to the end of the regular season.

At the same time. The students moved seven points off the relegation zone.

On the other hand, Nakuru remained one point above the drop zone after the defeat. They are 10th on the log with 12 points.

Elsewhere, Blak Blad defeated Kenya Harlequins 23-21, Homeboyz edged Impala 17-12 as bottom placed Nondescripts shocked Mwamba 12-0.
