Mudavadi condemns rampant graft in government - KBC

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has condemned the continous loss of public funds meant for government projects saying the trend might affect the 2019 budgetary allocations. 

Mudavadi said any public officer adversely mentioned in graft should face the law.

His sentiments were echoed by the clergy who called the government to intensify its war on graft.

Speaking  after attending a church service at the Jubilee Christian Church in Parklands Nairobi, Mudavadi said the loss of public funds through graft might have a huge impact in the next government financial year.

Mudavadi said the 21 billion shillings that was meant for the construction of the multipurpose Aror and Kimwarer dams in Elgeyo marakwet and is allegedly lost, should be investigated and culprits brought to book.

Tiaty MP William Kamket said those defending the  Arror and Kimwarer dam corruption allegations should instead avail the information  to Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) for action.

Elsewhere, a section of Western Kenya leaders are feeling deprived of a slot in cabinet following the sacking of Rashid Echesa.

Though Echesa has since been replaced by Amina Mohammed, the leaders say that is not enough.

And former Embu senator Lenny Kivuti has broken his silence since the Supreme Court dealt him a blow and ruled in favor of the current Embu governor Nyaga Wambora.

Kivuti has extended an olive branch to Wambora saying he will support him to accomplish the county’s development agenda.
