Nairobi county clinical officers kicked off their strike on Thursday in a bid to compel the county to increase their numbers.
The officers who began their peaceful demonstrations at Uhuru park heading towards City Hall want the county government of Nairobi to adhere to the laws that govern them regarding promotions and confirmation.
Nairobi Clinical Officers Union secretary Tom Nyakaba says the officers are overworked and want their numbers increased.
“Today all clinical officers in every county medical facility will go on strike, the county government does not want to listen to our grievances.” He said
The secretary further added that the union resorted to the strike as a last option because dialogue has failed.
