The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations entered day two Tuesday.
The candidates will sit their science paper this morning from 8.30, Kiswahili Lugha at 11.10 and Insha in the afternoon.
A total of 1,265,507 candidates are registered to sit for the exam that will end tomorrow Wednesday.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) had indicated that the figure represents a 2.75% candidature increase, compared to 1,191,752 candidates who sat for the 2020 KCPE exam.
No major incidents have been reported so far. Cabinet Secretary George Magoha and other top officials in the Ministry of Education supervised the opening and distribution of the examination materials in different counties.
The CS was at the Nyeri Central DCC Container, while CAS Sarah Ruto led the exercise in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Principal Secretaries Julius Jwan and Fatuma Chege supervised the opening and distribution at Homabay and Kieni East DCC Containers respectively.

Others are KNEC bosses John Onsati, David Njeng’ere and KICD Charles Ochieng’ Ong’ondo who took charge in Machakos, Thika in Kiambu and Yala in Siaya.
The exam is being administered in 28,316 examination centres across the country.
KNEC has invited examiners online for the 2021 KCPE/KCSE marking exercise.
