NSE daily equity turnover declines to KSh 361 Million

Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) Daily Equity Turnover declined to KSh 361 Million this Wednesday from KSh 413 Million recorded the previous day while the number of shares traded also declined to 10 Million from the previous 11.5 Million.

Safaricom was the day’s top mover with 7 million shares valued at KSh 254 Million changing hands at between KSh 35.55 and KSh 36.60 representing 70.52% of the day’s traded value.

The Banking Sector moved shares worth KSh 100 Million which accounted for 27.7% of the day’s traded value. KCB Group moved 1.4 Million shares valued at KSh 65.8 Million at between KSh 44.80 and KSh 45.25. Equity Group share price declined by 3.38% to KSh 50.00 while moving 602,000 shares valued at KSh 30 Million. Absa Bank moved 130,000 shares valued at KSh 1.5 Million and stood at KSh 11.80

NSE WINNERS AND LOSERS

The day’s top price gainer was Williamson Tea which rose 5.38% to KSh 137.00 followed by Nairobi Business Ventures which edged up 4.20% to KSh 5.46; Crown Paint which was up 3.21% to KSh 1.93 and Coop Bank which gained 2.75% to KSh 13.10.

The worst performers were led by Car&General which fell by 9.96% to KSh 54.25 followed by Standard Group which fell 9.91% to KSh 14,55; Eaagads which fell by 5.43% to KSh 13.05; Equity which lost 3.38% to KSh 50.00 and Sameer Africa which lost 2.92% to KSh 2.66.

The Secondary Bonds market had a turnover of KSh 3.5 Billion from 98 deals compared to a turnover of KSh 2.4 Billion in 79 deals at the previous trading session.

The Derivatives Market had 10 contracts worth KSh 365,000 concluded compared to 38 contracts valued at KSh 1.5 Million at the previous trading session.

NSE INDICES

The NSE 20 Share Index was up 1.51 points to 1882.94 while the NSE All Share Index lost 1.61 points to stand at 160.34. The NSE 25 Share Index shed 26.35 points to 3623.29
