Police officers arrest suspected gangsters in their hideout

Police have nabbed a gang believed to be behind the daring robberies in the up market apartments of Kileleshwa in Nairobi.

According to the Directorate of criminal investigations, the gang was apprehended at its hide-out in Ruiru Kiambu County and an assortment of stolen goods recovered.

The gang targeted high end apartments in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa estate, making away with portable high value items.

The four, Alex Nderi alias ‘Ade’, Peter Kaari alias ‘Pinches’ or ‘Walker’, Nicholas  Alusala alias ’Nico’ and  Veronica Kamau alias ’Veroh’ fell into a police dragnet after their details and identity were revealed in a CCTV footage.

A firearm reportedly robbed from a Chinese national and loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition was recovered and sent to Ballistics for forensic examination.

Two vehicles and several sets of fake license plates were also netted during operation.

Separately, DCI Detectives based at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport have seized several grams of Heroin allegedly destined for the Republic of Guinea.

The consignment was disguised as generator spare parts. Elsewhere,  a Cameroonian national Fortaw Elvis Nkengle going by the alias ‘ Derrick was arraigned in court for counterfeiting and obtaining money by false pretense.

The suspect was found in possession of various counterfeit items.
