Friday March 1, 2019 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, has launched scathing attacks at Deputy President William Ruto and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, for criticising the ongoing corruption purge. Speaking after the party’s National Executive Council meeting, Raila faulted the two politicians for ethnicising the war on graft. “They are bold, fearless, reckless and contemptuous but a criminal is a criminal and it should not be ethnicised,” Raila said. The former Prime Minister’s comments come a day after the DP denied claims that Sh 21 billion could not be accounted for in the Arror and Kimwarer multi-purpose dam projects in Elgeyo-Marakwet. According to Dr. Ruto, whose Chief of Staff Ken Osinde has been implicated in the scandal, only Sh7 billion is in question? But Raila questioned why Ruto knew the amount of money lost yet he is not the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI). He also faulted Murkomen for defending the construction of the dams yet there is no groundwork that has been done.
