'Ringtone kindly note Karen is not a farm...' read threat of eviction letter

Musician Ringtone seems to have been caught up in a lie after it emerged a letter purportedly from an association representing Karen residents is fake.

Ringtone on Tuesday posted a letter on his Instagram page allegedly from the Karen Residents Association which demanded that he get rid of the ’40 cows’ he supposedly keeps on his property.

However, the purported letter raised questions right from the incorrect grammar used.

The letter head refers to the ‘Karen Residents Association’ but the body goes on to refer to the outfit as the ‘Karen resident association’. The letter heading also has typos.

It reads: “Complains from residents of Karen about your cows”. Yes, the fine people of Karen allegedly have complains, not complaints.

The letter is signed off with, “We love your music!”

Another problem with the letter is that Karen Residents Association does not exist.

The outfit that represents people living in Karen goes by the name Karen Lang’ata District Association (KLDA).

Speaking to kiss100.co.ke, Ringtone was defiant. He said,

‘There are people there who rear horses. why is it a problem that I’m rearing cows? They just want to oppress the poor man.’

When questioned how he can purport to be poor while living in Karen, he said,

‘Wewe wacha siasa sasa’.

Check out the letter sent to Ringtone via a messenger to his house in Karen.
