- Marcus Rashford has been retained to take penalties by Man United boss Solskjaer
- The 21-year-old came under fire after missing his spot-kick against Crystal Palace
- Man United will be away to Southampton in their next Premier League game
Marcus Rashford will continue to take penalties for Manchester United despite missing against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has declared.
The England international converted his spot-kick in their opening day win against Chelsea but the 21-year-old left the penalty for Paul Pogba in their draw with Wolves.
The Frenchman had his penalty saved by Rui Patricio, generating debate on who should be the penalty-taker for United.
It appears Rashford and Pogba have been sharing the responsibilities but when Rashford decided to take the penalty awarded against Palace.
But according to Independent, Solskajer is not concerned about the miss and has insisted that the Englishman will continue to take subsequent penalties.
"Fine margins," he said. "We're disappointed but I'm sure Marcus will look at his penalty again but he'll definitely step up again," he added.
Solskjaer related the situation to personal experience, and still believes Pogba and Rashford would share the responsibility.
"The two of them are confident and good penalty takers and I've been in that situation myself and missed a penalty for Norway, and when there are two names there it's the one who's the most confident," the tactician noted.
United will travel to St Mary's to play Southampton next weekend and will be looking to return to winning ways.
