Sportpesa has Wednesday unveiled its sponsorship for Leonardo Varese led rally team ahead of the second leg of the Kenya National Rally Championships that kicks off this weekend.
The Sportpesa sponsored rally car is a pumper Toyota Auris and will be navigated by Kigo Kareithi during the remaining sevens legs of the championship.
Speaking during the unveiling of the car event held at Impala club, Nairobi, Sportpesa’s Chief Marketing Officer Kelvin Twissa said; “We are delighted to be sponsoring a refined rally team in such a prestigious championship. It’s a great opportunity for us to spread our tentacles to different sport disciplines in the country. Our plan is to support rally in a big way in Kenya in the future.”
The two-time 2WD Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) champion Leonardo Varese and his navigator Kigo Kariathi expressed confidence to win the second leg noting that the sponsorship is a big boost to their aspiration to emerge the overall winner.

“With the continued support from Sportpesa, we aim to take the crown for the overall winner of the eight legs of the championship and we will start with this second leg. I know it’s a very competitive championship, but we feel the energy and we are equal to the task”. He said.
Varese, won the championship in 2008 and 2010 season.
