National women beach volleyball team captain Phosca Kasisi said they will not relent until they realise the team’s dream of playing in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“We are only two steps away from playing in the Olympic Games and we have what it takes to realise our dream,” said Kasisi.

The team started its residential camp at Flamingo Beach Hotel in Mombasa last Friday ahead of the second phase of Africa women beach volleyball Olympic qualifiers in Nigeria.

Coach Sammy Mulinge gave the ladies a day off yesterday before resuming their training sessions today.

Kasisi said their focus is to win in Nigeria during the phase two round where they are in group C together with the hosts Nigeria, Cape Verde, Republic Democratic of Congo and Zambia.

After the Nigeria contest, the top two teams will qualify for the third and final qualifiers, where African representatives to the Olympics will be picked.

“Our focus is the second phase as we know all teams are equally good and well prepared for the event that runs from March 5-7 at Jabi Lake Beach in Abuja, Nigeria,” said Kasisi.

Meanwhile, the men’s national team starts its camp in Mombasa today under coach Patrick Owino.
