DAILY POST: This is what MURATHE told KABOGO after he told him to stop speaking on behalf of MT KENYA residents – This man has bloated ego like Miguna! News, Politics 03:22
Monday December 31, 2018-A political storm has erupted in ruling
Jubilee Party after former Gatanga MP, David Murathe, said Mt Kenya region will
not support Deputy President William Ruto’s Presidential candidature in 2022.Murathe, who made remarks in Mbale, Vihiga County on Wednesday, said Mt Kenya region had no Memorandum of Understanding with anybody regarding the 2022 Presidential election. Mr Murathe, who was accompanied by former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando, said the President and his Deputy had shared power equally for two terms and should both retire. "If he (William Ruto) has an MoU with Uhuru Kenyatta, then that was an agreement between two individuals," Murathe said. After the remarks,Murathe was lashed by some leaders from Mt Kenya who urged him to stop speaking on behalf of the community. “Murathe has no authority to speak on anyone’s behalf. Who is he to ask DP Dr WSR to retire from politics in 2022 we’ve not forgotten he sold his parliamentary seat to SK Macharia. He’s politically broke,” former Kiambu governor, William Kabogo, said. But in a fast rejoinder, Murathe asked Kabogo to shut up and said he should ashamed about how he was thrashed by Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu, during last year’s general election. “People loose elections but if I am beaten at the ballot by some people like Waititu, I will never discuss anything related to politics again. Not even in my bedroom with my wife,” Murathe was quoted saying. Kabogo was thrashed by Waititu with a huge margin and this is why Murathe mocked him.
