Two arrested with fake gold and Sh32.6 billion in Ruiru

Two people have been arrested with fake gold and Sh32.6 billion in Kenyan and foreign currency.

Joseph Munyao was nabbed alongside another suspect Nancy Muthoni on Wednesday in Kwihota, Ruiru.

Munyao who lives with his wife and three kids was intercepted by DCI officers as he was going to work.

Detectives trailed the man after receiving information from the public about contraband money.

The man said he was initially an employee at Secure Africa – a company that deals with logistics. He was staying in a house owned by another suspect, Joseph Waswa, who has been charged with impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A licenced gun was found by detectives.
