Two killed in Lari crash

A motorist and one of his passengers were killed on Thursday when their vehicle crashed into a lorry in Gichiengo area, Lari subcounty.

Lari OCPD Isaiah Odhiambo said the three other passengers in the private vehicle sustained serious injuries and were rushed to AIC Kijabe Hospital.

The lorry driver, Bernard Njuguna, and loader did not sustain injuries.

Njuguna said the motorist's brakes might have failed, making him swerve onto the lorry's lane.

"I saw the car moving towards our vehicle. I hooted, flashed headlights, but we collided," he said.

Odhiambo urged motorists to drive cautiously.

The bodies were taken to Naivasha Hospital and the wreckage was towed to Lari police station.

Investigations are being conducted.
