In his first visit to Kenya as the Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, Mr. Olivier Adam will be delivering a public lecture at Mount Kenya University.
Mount Kenya University is partnering with UNV to provide volunteering opportunities for its students within the UN system.
The Thursday 28 Public lecture is the climax of a two-week mission by the head of UNV to the three East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania that began on 18th March 2019.
The Thursday lecture will start at 1:30pm to 4:00pm.

Mr. Adam will be accompanied by UNV East and Southern Africa Regional Manager, Mr. Njoya Tikum and the Vice-Chancellor of Mount Kenya University, Prof Stanely Waudo among other High-level representatives from the United Nations’ and the Universities’ fraternities.
The lecture will explore the role of Universities and relevance of volunteerism in fast tracking the realization of the SDGs in East Africa.
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide through integrating qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promoting the value and global recognition of volunteerism.
In 2018, some 7,203 UN Volunteers in over 100 different professions served with 35 United Nations entities in 131 countries.
