The body of veteran journalist Gatonye Gathura has been found in Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital morgue, a month after he went m*****g.

Gathura, a renowned Health and Science journalist, went m*****g on October 26, 2021. A report was filed with the police the same day before his body was found dumped on the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road. However, the Registrar of Persons used fingerprints to establish his identity on Thursday, November 25, 2021, and confirmed the body to be that of Mr Gathura.

Police reports indicated that a copper wire was found around his neck, indicating that the scribe could have been strangled to d***h.

“We are treating his d***h as m****r. We s*****t he was k****d elsewhere and the body dumped in Naivasha,” said Naivasha Sub-County Police Commander Samuel Waweru.

Before his d***h, Gathura ran a blog called Rocket Science which ran stories on medicine, health, environment and technology.

He previously wrote for The Standard and Nation, before starting his own blog.

He published his last story, Sterilised men protect their women against ovarian c****r – study, on October 19.
