Kenyans on social media were furious after a court in Ukwala locked up 8 Ambira High School students accused of exam cheating and disrespecting Cabinet Secretaries Fred Matiag’i and Amina Mohammed.
The court ordered that the boys be detained for 7 days as investigations continue.
Kenyans felt that this move was highly unnecessary as this was just a matter of indiscipline which could have been sorted out without having to lock up the underage students. They further insisted that the government should be pursuing high profile criminals looting the country everyday instead of the young boys.
The swiftness in arresting those boys from Ambira high school is astonishing. If arrests of corrupt individuals was like such, things would have been different.

The Speed used to arrest and prosecute boys from Ambira High School should be used on Corruption cartels,its a shame to see more strength and energy right from the president on such a case. Uhuru divert the strength and energy towards corruption or else no sense in our leadership

Government prssss….you arrest the Ambira high school boys in less than a week but take 4yrs to verify a video and audio of duale’s threats to the kambas in Garissa.. take 8yrs to verify CCTVs on what happened to Saitoti’s helicopter at Wilson

How come action has been taken against the kids from Ambira but not against the kids from that high school in Kwale who were talking about fucking Matiang’i in the ass, calling him msenge and telling him kuma mamake? ?

Probe on what? #RuarakaLandscam? What about the Garissa governor case? OR the missing Kenya power files? Those BOYS are our FUTURE leaders!

I now believe that the kenyan judiciary is controlled by the executive and is for the rich.

What probe? We all watched the video, these are over excited children copying what they see their leaders saying during rallies and nobody castigates or arrests the leaders. They need guidance not incarceration
— Atieno Okeyo (@Atis_Okeyo) November 26, 2018
the only evidence they have is a video clip.

Exactly, this is impunity;
1. Uhuru tried cheating on the nullified elections, he was not taught a lesson but our kids should.
2. Uhuru was calling people WASHENZI or SHETANI, no one complained, he might be the president but wananchii are stronger

We are creating a generation that will never have the guts to criticize bad governance. Are public officers gods? Those are children being punished for being children. Again this instant justice for petty offenders while real thugs roam in our parliament is too much.
